| PARENTS, FAMILIES AND FRIENDS GET FIRST GLIMPSE OF SONS AT SUMMER CAMP AND ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) FIELD MEET
With strains of “Gonna Fly Now” from the motion picture “Rocky” filling the air waves, MMA Campers took the Bowman Stadium Field at 1700, Friday, July 28th. The stands were filled to the brim with proud parents, families and friends, all straining to catch the first glimpse of their camper. “I think that’s him…” an anxious Mom peers around the shoulder of the parent seated in front of her. “No, his ears are bigger—with those yellow shirts and red caps they ALL look alike. THERE HE IS!” The Mom jumps to her feet and waves frantically at a passing camper. The camper glimpses her, grins from ear-to-ear, and casually waves back, his wave turning into a “thumbs-up”. “He looks GOOD, and he’s so much taller!” remarks Mom to all around her. Field Events proceeded under the direction of SgtMaj Ford Kinsley, USMC (Ret) with Chaplain Chris Elliott emceeing.
