ALPHA COMPANY in SIZZLING BOXING ACTION -

CWO3 Ed Harris, Alpha Company Drill Instructor, had his hands full Tuesday, July 11th, as he and his trusty Cadet Instructors marched ALPHA Company down Battalion Street to the Leatherneck Boxing Gym...'hands full' due to the intense excitement which filled the air, replaced by tenacity and quick-footedness as Alpha Company paired up and entered the Boxing Ring under the watchful eyes of Head Boxing Coach SgtMaj Robertson and Assistant GySgt Jose Villareal.  Sgt Maj Robertson had one-on-one time with each opponent, starting each off in the "on-guard" position. At the sound of the bell, under SgtMaj Robertson's urging and sometimes "un-urging", each boxer advanced to the center of the ring and assumed the on-guard position, beginning to throw punches at the opponent, progressing to outright JABS and occasionally a HOOK, and sometimes a JAB followed by a HOOK.  Whatever the combination and none-the-less or MORE, all opponents came out smiling, shaking hands and already planning what to do better in their next bout, eager to return to the ring.
