ECHO Company In HOT-HOT-HOT Pugil Stick Competition, GOLF Company Rappelling from “Flight Zone”; and CHARLIE Company Returns From Over Hill and Over Dale

“THAT’S ONE GIANT Q-TIP!”

ECHO Company tests their "mettle" in PUGIL Stick competition - With a helmet with full face mask, groin protection and protective neck roll, plenty of padding and a cushioned pugil stick - wooden base wrapped with lots of styrofoam and cloth, campers from ECHO Company mock-battled one another as they honed their skills to be recognized as the victors of pugil sticks.  Aside from earning bragging rights, these campers are learning self-defense, self-confidence, coordination and--when going 2-on-1 and 3-on-1, the value of teamwork.  Every camper undergoes this exercise, and nearly everyone's canteen needs filling when the hour is up!!!

“HEY, I THINK WE’RE HIGHER THAN THAT AIRPLANE!”

30 feet up, strapped in to a bright blue harness with billet rope firmly gripped between gloved fists, GOLF Company campers learned to rappel. All received a hearty ration of encouragement from SgtMaj Wilson who, in turn, received a constant return volley of hearty “THANK YOU, Sergeant Major” acknowledgements as campers successfully completed their first encounter with rappelling. “The first step off the tower’s the toughest part…it’s all downhill from there!” exclaims a beaming camper, throwing his shoulders back a bit further and straightening his back. “I’m going AGAIN!”

OVER HILL, OVER DALE, CHARLIE COMPANY HITS THE DUSTY TRAIL!

CHARLIE Company hit the trails in hearty stride, encountering a few dragon flies, toads, geckoes, jackrabbits, even a Harris’s Hawk or two, …a virtual wildlife playground for those who keep their hiking eyes WIDE OPEN! Ahhhhhh…what a fine way to begin a perfect Tuesday aboard Camp MMA!
